Show Synopsis

Sonny is a dreamer. Maybe it’s the ADHD, maybe it’s just his longing for adventure but he always seems to have his head in the clouds, or rather…the stars and that’s not a bad thing. You see, Sonny, and his friends attend the Out of The Box Alternative School, and on any given day, in the blink of an eye, an exciting idea can send Sonny’s imagination spinning off into all directions, and all of sudden what used to look like a school is now a space station. Teacher talking about Paleontology?.... Next thing you know the schoolyard is transformed and Sonny and his friends are an elite squad of Dino riders on a planet made of the skull of a giant space creature. Starting a unit about explorers? Then Sonny and his friends are on the Space Cruiser “Marco Polo” discovering new worlds. Yes, Sonny has a way of turning even the most mundane things into an adventure. A grade school concert turns into a larger than life interstellar hip-hop concert with a Robo DJ, or a typical soccer game into an invasion by droid robots, Sonny and his friends all love a good adventure and when the place is space there’s nothing better, unless its time for gravity to bring the crew back down to Earth… back to school. 

OUT OF THIS WORLD is an imaginative, sometimes comedic, immersive short form live action series that features real kids with an infusion of special effects and CGI; where the idea of community is given a whole new meaning; whether the crew is hanging out in the school yard, or meeting new friends in Galaxy’s far far away.  At the conclusion of each episode there is a short 2min Science Fiction inspired segment where S.T.E.A.M. meets self esteem , where  special guests and viewers interact with our diverse and exceptional cast of characters in a variety of ways that encourage good Mental Health and Wellness; whether it be Music & Movement, Tinkering & Building or Q & A Discussions. This is a co-viewership model where parents and young children can watch this show together much like Sesame Street. Our age demographic is  5-8 years old with episodes that are approx. 10 min in length (20 episodes) that can be consumed on streaming platforms, traditional broadcast and  Youtube.  This is an intergalactic variety show that is a crazy blend of sketch, music, science and most importantly fun.  It’s part Star Wars, part Marvel,  part Bill Nye and part Calvin and Hobbes in space, combining the fantastical imaginary journeys of "The Backyardigans," and the community-based allure and nostalgia of "Peanuts," all done with a spacey, yet down to earth, urban inspired Hip Hop flare! It’s a show that tells us all journeys are worth taking, both the external and the internal ones, especially for a little boy who is “Out of this World”

  OUT OF THIS WORLD has an interstellar cast of professionals committed to creating the series including none other than Oscar winner Roger Christian, Second Unit Director for Return of the Jedi, the Phantom Menace and one of the designers of the lightsaber, R2D2 and The Millennium Falcon. Roger will be designing assets & environments, weighing in on scripting and ensuring that Out of This World is as SciFi and fun as we intended it to be, joining Roger will be Paul Burford creator of the Canadian Kids classic Just Like Mom. Grammy winning producers Roy Hamilton 3rd (Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Nsync, Justin Beiber) & Pras Michel of the legendary music group the Fugees will be the music directors making sure the musical score in the series moves the crowd, and world renowned choreographer Clarence Ford (Cirque de Soliel, The Smurfs, Adam Sandler, Lenny Kravitz) will be the creative director for our music and movement segments.
